Abid Virani, Director and Co-Founder of Student Reach

Abid Virani, Director and Co-Founder of Student Reach International,was pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree at McGill University, majoring in International Development. He is transferring to the University of Guelph this fall. He is a recipient of the TD Canada Trust National Award of Merit and is a Millennium Laureate. Abid has found a passion for writing and public speaking, specifically in regards to how students can have an impact on the world. Abid has traveled to Uganda to visit the birthplace of his parents and has spent time volunteering in Tanzania.
Abid told us with passion about the goals of Student Reach, to educate students about issues of human rights, to empower youth and to encourage them to make contributions now, as students.
His aim is to inspire one million students across Canada.
Reach Lesotho is a comprehensive leadership and academic program designed by Student Reach International. The program aims to inspire Canadian students to get involved while raising awareness about HIV/AIDS in Lesotho, Africa.
